Mystical Creatures Exhibit
The Colchester Castle exhibition is themed around mystical creatures, medieval legends, and how these stories first came to life. I was commissioned to illustrate four legendary beings — the unicorn, the dragon, the griffin, and the mermaid — each brought to life as large-scale panels woven into the exhibition. These creatures weren’t just for show: they were part of an interactive quest for families, with a story and series of books to follow room by room. Each creature guarded a special artefact, hidden somewhere in the castle, waiting to be found.
Did you miss it?
I’ve just come back from Colchester, where we celebrated the grand opening of the exhibition and what a special experience it was! Seeing my illustrations in real life, being able to touch the final pieces, take photos, and most of all, watching the very first visitors walk through the doors… it was just wonderful.

From Concept to Creation: My Illustration Journey for This Project
"I’m excited to share my collaboration with the Colchester Castle Museum, where my illustrations will be featured in their upcoming exhibition, The Mystical Creatures.
The exhibition runs from the 26th of July to the 26th of February, showcasing a collection of my medieval artefacts inspired by the history and legends around the East Anglia region.
